About the event

The Art of Handling Difficult and Challenging Behavior In organizations where interpersonal interactions are central, challenging situations can sometimes arise that are difficult to manage and may lead to uncomfortable atmospheres. Individuals may, for various reasons, become irritated, suddenly act out, or even become threatening.

In many cases, it involves some form of underlying frustration or dissatisfaction that underlies the behavior. It can also be related to communication difficulties, stress, or mental health issues affecting the individual. However, the reasons can be numerous!

Regardless of the cause, there are educational strategies we can employ to alleviate a tense atmosphere or deflect challenging behavior. This lecture provides an introduction to low-affect approaches as a starting point but also includes other communicative strategies to successfully handle difficult situations in a professional manner.
